Adamawa Govt, WHO Celebrates Zero COVID-19 Case
Adamawa state government says, the state has no active case of COVID-19 infection as all patients have been treated and discharged.
At an event put together by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tuesday, government confirmed that, all 42 people who were admitted for COVID-19 have been treated and discharged.
Bashiru Ahmad SSG who is also the Chairman of the State COVID-19 Containment Committee, said the state had not had any COVID-19 infection in 16 days.

“The last time any infection was confirmed for the state is 16 days ago,” the Commissioner said.
The ceremony was meant to celebrate survivors of COVID-19 and to stress the point that COVID-19 is real, was attended by the survivors, frontline health officers, and other stakeholders.
Isa added that, “You have proved that the isolation centre is not a dead end. You have defeated COVID-19. For that I declare you all as heroes and heroines.”
According to him, since the COVID-19 index case was confirmed in the state on April 22, the state had tested 374 cases, that out of this, 42 proved positive, with 19 suspected cases pending.
Dr Iyobosa Igbinovia, state Coordinator WHO congratulated the COVID-19 survivors and urged them to keep practising safe lifestyles.
He also urged the general public to believe that COVID-19 is real and to adopt all safety rules to avoid it.
One of the survivor said, “I didn’t believe it was real until I suddenly became ill and experienced difficulty in breathing. I called the NCDC and that was the beginning of my journey to the isolation and treatment centre.”
He lauded government for providing quality treatment at the isolation centres.
